Trip to Lisbon

Hi.

I'm coming to Lisbon for the weekend in a couple of weeks' time.

What sort of things should I do?

I'm coming with my girlfriend, and am also planning on proposing to her somewhere.

Can anyone recommend anywhere romantic, or with good views or something, where I could do it?

Thanks

Anywhere in Alfama, the older distrcit, is romantic. You could go to the castle at the top of Alfama to propose.

Otherwise, you should try the original pastel de nata in Belem.

Or you could go to the top of the Elevador de Santa Justa. It looks over the sea and the castle, and the whole city, and would be very romantic when it gets a bit darker.

Hi,

The viewpoint at Senhora da Monte (Graça) is quiet, romantic and the view the best in Lisbon. There is an okay hotel there, bit bland for my tastes... After go to Cafe de Monte, down the hill for chocolate fondout and a cocktail. Or go to the other viewpoint in Graça, the miradour, for a drink. Amazing views ver the city.

Use google maps streetview so you can see for yourself. It is on the 28tram route, which is highly recomended but keep hold of your wallet, the pickpockets are very skilled here...

good luck and I hope the weather is good when you come.

Also, yes, the castle at 9am is very beautiful on a sunny day.

Not sure about where to propose, but you should go to Cascais to eat one night. It has some great fish restaurants. There's a great one tucked up the back of the old fire station...although I can't remember its name right now. I'll post again if I remember it.
