Recognition of diplomas and qualifications

You can get a direct comparison between any qualifications and those recognised in Portugal.

Higher Degrees

In case of higher degrees the requirements to the recognition of diplomas varies according to the area of studies, going from an almost immediate recognition (in case of medical/nursing studies) to a same what complicated system which includes a trial period (in case of lawyers). Therefore you should contact the NARIC for more detailed information.

Secondary Degrees

In case of secondary degrees, if you are not going to carry on your studies, you should present your diploma (usually it is necessary a stamp from the Portuguese embassy in your country) to the CIREP. If you are going to resume your studies here in Portugal, than you get the recognition at the school you are thinking in enrolling.

If you wish to recognise you professional skills, obtained in your country of origin or other EU/EEA, you should request this recognition (equivalência professional) at the Instituto do Emprego e Formação Profissional.
